Residential Care Program

Nova Home Support provides person-centered support to a sweet, funny teenager with autism, severe mental illness, medical/ADL needs, and behavioral challenges. Training and support take place in the community and in a private home designed to meet the client’s unique and evolving needs. The program is grounded in principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, and adjustments to the behavior intervention plan are made frequently based on data collected by a team of Direct Support Professionals and Registered Behavior Technicians working under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Nova Home Support team members collaborate closely with school district personnel and an interdisciplinary medical team to promote the client’s health and safety, learning, autonomy, community inclusion and well-being across all environments.

Helping to manage the client's program over the past four years has provided me with an amazing opportunity to be a part of a care team that feels more like an extended family. Nova Home Support is full of so much knowledge, dedication, and heart that it has continuously encouraged my professional and personal growth. Seeing the strides the program has made since I came on board has been greatly fulfilling, and my personal interactions with the charismatic and endearing client are always the icing on the cake.”

Mikayla Napier, Director of Operations

“He’s a great kid with a lot of potential, and I saw him grow so much in the two years I spent on his care team. He really cherishes the times when people take the time to bond with him. Providing him with the support he needed taught me that even on the toughest days, the smallest things can bring you joy.”
